David and Karin Reese have been wonderfully married for 22 years. Karin hails from Indiana, while David grew up in a combination of Tennessee & Alabama. They met while at Bob Jones University, where Karin graduated in 1988 with a B.S. degree in Biology, and David graduated in 1989 with a B.S. degree in Physics/Engineering Sciences.

Karin is also now pursuing a B.S. degree in Psychology from Kenai Peninsula College, and David holds a M.A. in Air Mobility from the Air Force Institute of Technology and a M.A. in Military Arts & Science from Air University.

David & Karin were married in May of 1989 just before David joined the US Air Force in the fall of 1989. Following Officer Training School, David served in a variety of procurement, logistics, and leadership roles. Career highlights include commanding the Air Force’s largest operational contracting squadron (which was recognized as the Air Force’s best unit of its type) and receiving special Presidential recognition for excellence while commanding the Air Force’s premier special operations contracting squadron. Throughout his career, David traveled extensively abroad for duty and deployed to Afghanistan and Qatar during Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom. David and Karin were also assigned to the Pentagon during the terror attacks of 9/11.

Both Karin and David developed a deep love for taking care of others as they traveled the globe in military service. In their various churches over the years, they both gravitated toward service roles where they were able to minister others, whether in music ministries or simply supporting other workers from a behind-the-scenes role.

Karin has served in a variety of roles in support of Sunday School, children’s church, AWANA, church office, and praise & worship teams over the years. She has also directly assisted the deaf ministries at two churches, including the transcription of weekly sermons for inclusions on their former church’s website for the past eight years. Karin was also a vital part of David’s Air Force duties over their 20 year career, especially during their two command roles where Karin was intimately involved in caring & feeding (literally!) of the people serving in David’s squadrons.

After retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel from the Air Force in 2009, David joined LG Electronics in Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey serving as their procurement director for North America, where he was responsible for the company’s contracts across the US, Canada, and Mexico. God used this opportunity to prepare the way for David and Karin to quickly transition into full-time missionary service.

Seeing the need for providing the unconditional love of Christ to the people of Alaska and their many physical and spiritual needs, David and Karin joined the MARC team in September 2010 and are enjoying this latest chapter of their lives. David and Karin are both involved with development & communication outreach activities at MARC.

They are the proud humans of three extremely spoiled cats named Taspinar, Duchess, and Mo.

SUPPORT

We came to Alaska as missionaries commissioned to serve the Lord in reaching out to the remote villages of Alaska with the hope of Jesus Christ.

We have been sent forth by other Christians and depend upon the financial support of those like-minded believers and stewards who share God's calling with us.

We’re supported by prayers and financial donations from churches, families, and individuals, making them partners in this missionary endeavor.

Your designated financial support to MARC allows us to sustain our ministry efforts despite the high costs of serving within Alaska.

All donations to MARC are tax-deductible to the full extent of the law under IRS tax code 501(c)(3).

On-line giving options are available, or you can send designated donations to:
